Owner and Optometrist
Dr. Kacey Cilimberg attended The University of Alabama and graduated summa cum laude in 2012 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She received a Doctorate of Optometry degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2016. Birmingham is home to Dr. Cilimberg and she is excited to serve Liberty Park and the surrounding communities. She received the UAB Clinical Excellence award, an award given to one student in each class, voted on by the attending doctors. She went on to complete a residency specializing in Cornea, Contact Lens, and Refractive Surgery at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. It was during this residency that Dr. Cilimberg solidified her passion for fitting patients with complex corneas in scleral contact lenses. Dr. Cilimberg returned to Alabama following the completion of her residency and has been practicing optometry in the Birmingham area since 2017. Dr. Cilimberg is a member of the Alabama Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and the Scleral Lens Education Society.
She was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and as the daughter of a Commander in the U.S. Air Force, lived in six different states during her upbringing. Dr. Cilimberg and her husband, Michael, have been happily married since 2015. Magic City Eyecare was opened in November 2020. Just six short weeks later, they welcomed their first son, Noah. They also have a fur baby, Cooper. They are members of The Gathering at Bluff Park United Methodist Church and in their free time, enjoy hiking, working out, traveling and trying new restaurants in Birmingham.
